About Katra

The beautiful Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir is believed to be a holy place for pilgrims all over the world. The main attraction of the place is the temple of Mata Vaishno Devi. The place is situated about 754 meters above sea level. To reach Mata Vaishno Devi all the pilgrims need to follow a pavement way to the temple. Many of them walk through the pavements just with a help of a stick. The Temple Katra gives a huge scope of tourism in the area.

Jammu airport is the nearest airport to Katra. It is just 40 km away from Katra city. Taxis are available all the time outside the airport.

Jammu Tawi railway is the oldest and most important railway station in Katra. A good number of trains run from major cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, Kolkata, and Mumbai. Recently Indian railways introduce the Katra railway station. Direct trains are available from Delhi to Katra.

Katra is well connected to the major cities of India by National Highway.
